Do you ever reinstall Flexi in order to fix problems?

I have had to reinstall a Windows OS before because little, bothersome, aggravating things start happening. And, after the reinstall things work as they should. Is FlexiSIGN like that? I am using Flexi 11 on a Windows 7 64bit computer. Here are 4 issues that I have noticed here lately:

1. In the design window, when putting an outline on anything, it will not make an outline with square corners. It will make rounded and clipped but not a square join type. The square button is not grayed out.
2. When I click paste in the design window, it automatically pastes to the right and slightly higher, instead of allowing me to paste where the mouse pointer is pointing.
3. This week I went to reprint a file I had saved from last October and Flexi wouldn't open its own file. It said "Unsupported file format."
4. This week I sent a simple, vector file to print and cut (only 3 colors). One color was a green leaf. The leaf printed blue. The only way I could fix it was to change the leaf's Pantone spot color to a Lab color.

I'm not having any problems with other programs. I don't think the problem is a virus or malware. I have older versions of Flexi that don't have these problems. Is it just time for a reinstall?

I rarely have to uninstall/reinstall Flexi. In most cases, loading the "Factory Defaults" in the Preference Manager does the trick. You will lose all of your custom settings and device setups, but sometimes it is worth it.

That being said, I have no idea if this is necessary in your case. It sounds to me like you have something else going on.

I save an own default. Resetting to this own defaults will solve Problems too in 95% of all cases, and will not delete custom settings and setups.

Frank, will you or some one else explain "own default"?

With Flexi, you have a little app named "Preference Manager" (in the "Program"-Menu in "Sai Production Suite" or in the program folder). When you have Flexi configured as you want to you could open this app (after closing Flexi) and save the current settings with a name as you want to (just click "save" and type in the name). It is the same place were you find the factory defaults to reset to them.

Now, when for any reason you have trouble with Flexi, instead of defaulting Flexi to the factory defaults, you can reset Flexi to the settings you have saved too. Helps in 99% of the cases, and you have your output devices with their correct IP-Adresses and configurations, all program settings and so on available immediately.

With Flexi 12, this settings are exportable, to import them after a clean install. You can create more than one individual setting.
