Does anyone know anything about e-checks?

I have a customer that referred me to order either of his customers for a sign removal. All I have is the customers email address, so I sent him a quote through email.

On my quote, I stipulated that 1/2 down is required to start the job, and the balance would be due when the job is complete.

A couple of days go by, and I get a signed quote back, and a note at the bottom saying that an E-check has been issued. Has anyone ever been paid by E-check? Do they get mailed, or is it deposited into a pay pal account?

I have a couple of customers who pay electronically. Both have set me up in their systems to make payments directly to my checking account with an e-mail notification. Unless you have set it up in advance you will probably be receiving a printed check in the mail.

The 'eChecks' I have had are paid through Paypal. Usually, Paypal also warn you not to 'ship the goods' (or do the work, I guess) until the eCheck has cleared - from experience this takes anything up to a week.
