Double sided magnets?

Is it possible to make double sided magnets? We have a good customer who we make large magnetic dry erasable boards for. They want circular magnets with red on one side and green on the other for these boards. Our regular car magnet material has white vinyl on one side and doesn't' stick to steel with the vinyl side facing in. I'm not really sure why this is though, if i put laminated vinyl on the magnet side it sticks fine. I'm wondering if anybody sells magnetic roll without vinyl already on it, maybe that would work? Or do I need to try gluing the magnets face to face?

Any magnet has magnetic fields, one being north/positive and the other south/negative and when you put two like-poles face to face, they repel each other. No can do.

laminate magnet material together face to face with sheet or roll 3M adhesive, apply vinyl to both sides of magnet...die-cut...you can't go too thick with the vinyl so they stick properly

If someone has a better idea, I am sure they will let you know

Magnet material is made from iron fillings. When it's in liquid form with the rubber material they generate magnetic pull to one side. This creates a stronger magnetic field to grab a car door, and it prevents every little metal flake in the environment from attaching itself to the graphic side.

Your best solution would be gluing them face to face and putting your colors on the magnetic sides.

most of the magnetic materials aren't strong enough to hold itself up with the layer of vinyl material between steel/magnet.
Its basically a spacer, no matter how thin, that inhibits the strength of the magnet.

However, if your panel is a piece of steel then your magnet will attract no matter which side makes contact. which, in this case, is all you need...

How would I make it?
I'd make acrylic buttons/dials that you can embed/encapsulate a couple of neodynium magnets into (pic shown)

also noted, that, if you only need 1", or so, sized magnets then you can just pickup a bunch of ceramic magnets from Master Magnetics at your local Home Depot.
they're strong enough to hold up with vinyl applied to either-side. Neodynium is nice, but more expensive.

pics of a perforated steel panel behind my computer screen with .25"thick .75"dia ceramic magnets with 3M vinyl applied.... and me reelin' in a 600lb Marlin :toasting:
