Need Help Edge FX random error sending job

Hi everyone

new member here

I got myself a Gerber Edge FX second hand and am currently learning and testing!

I often get a job error when sending to the Edge no codes or anything but when I check the logs it always says there’s been some kind of FTP error

this can also happen halfway through a job

any ideas??

I will take a note of everything the next time it happens

What software and version are you using? (Flexi, Omega, etc.)

Most job syntax errors I've run into go away when disabling secondary settings in omega on non-standard formats. Example: sending an EdgeII file output to an EdgeFX with pre-shuffle or pause before rewind activated (software version dependent).

Hi sorry as i said i am a newbie and not sure what settings you mean

I am using composer 2.6

I make my artwork in adobe illustrator and import into a new composer document

i set all my foil colours - only using spot colours

i set my black as the overprint layer

any suggestions on where to find settings not sure i can be sending an edgeII file if i make a new one each time?

think 2.5 was the first that was compatible with FX

I rarely dig into the software myself any more. Give this a try and hopefully somebody may be able to provide you with a more direct solution. Omega 2.6 should both support the Edge FX and include a path to find the pre-shuffle setting. I can't recall if that was where the Pause Before Rewind activation was but it was a similar dialog menu.
