Edge rub marks on black prints?

Hey Guys,

First I want to say thanks for all the help. you guys have helped solve most of my problems so far with this machine. I am getting rubbing marks when I print black just in the area where the breaks are to let the white vinyl shine through. like if theres text there will be rub marks in the black just around the text. the top and bottom will be fine. I am guessing this is a setting.

I am using Flexisign and Duracoat foils.

its hard to see in pictures cause you can only see it at a certain angle. Im using oracal 651. I have a distributor 5 minutes from me that sells it pre punched for the edge so its the most convenient and cost effective vinyl to use.

Not taking anything away from Oracal but you need to isolate the thing causing the problem by switching either foil or vinyl to a different one. I've had several instances with Oracal 651 and 751 where the Duracoat wouldn't lay down a clean impression. It wouldn't happen with all foils or all vinyls. It was simply a combination that didn't get along well. In most cases it was the black Duracoat. Yet the same foil would print just fine on a different color of Oracal vinyl and the Gerber spot black would print just fine on the vinyl being used.

Interesting. I thought for sure the rubbing/banding issue would be fixed with settings. I feel like it did something similar on a roll of 3m gerber ready red just not as bad. It's like banding rubbing only on vertical lines where there are breaks in the print. where there is black all the way across it's a solid print.
