Edit Bitmap

I must be missing something really simple.
When you have a bitmap open in Corel X3 and you select it, you should be able to click the "Edit Bitmap" button and go directly to Corel Photo Paint.
For some reason, I've lost that function. When the bitmap is selected, the "edit bitmap" is "greyed out" and does not function.
Any ideas?

Thanks
Chris

Just asking, but are you sure it's a bitmap you have highlighted? See if the "Convert to Bitmap" button is an option, and try that first.

Also, make sure the bitmap is not locked. Kind of obvious, but I've overlooked it once or twice.

Make sure there isn't any text or elements with it that are not in the actual bitmap. Check ungroup. Then like suggested, try convert to bitmap to see if that helps.

Thanks all,
Yep, I,m sure it's a bitmap, I've tried several different examples.
I'll search more thoughroly through the options, maybe it's there.

Create a simple vector design, convert to bitmap, then try to edit that. doing it all in Corel may help.

Well I finally got it repaired.
Dont know exactly what the cause was but I did download a trial of X4 and then removed it. I suspect that was the culprit.

I did a search on the Corel site and found my exact problem in the knowledge base.
It said to make sure in photo paint under [tools-options-global-filters-associate] that CPT is checked.

Well, It was clicked, but I found that no changes would "stick". If I made a change it would just go back to the way it was.

After all that, I tried the F8 fix with no luck.

I finally did a repair installation which repaired the problem..whoo hoo!

Thanks for your help!
