'Fibers' under etched glass

I dont know how to call it in English but I noticed I, now and then, get some blue 'fibers' under the installed etched glass foil.
It's from my squeegee (3M) and I assume it's the fibers that are stuck on the edges of the application tape from when I was applying and cleancutting the vinyl.

A bit of a strange and long story....
My question is:
How can I avoid this?
Is the squeegee cheapass or do I have to dust off the applicationtape before I cut it to size?

Use a gold squeege

they might seem expensive, at first, but they last forever!

cheap ass squeegee, use the Gold 3M one, I have about 4-5 laying around the shop love em!!!

I prefer the silver nylon to the 3M gold. I feel it slides better across the tape

I have ordered 10 of the gold ones last month but didnt use them yet..... :-( silly me
