flexi and oracal 3651g

I have a Roland VP-300 and am using Oracal 3651g. When i print through flexi production manager using the preset from oracal, everything seems to be too dark. It was suggested that i should switch the Dither from Random Diffusion to FMXPress. The colors are now correct but the print quality isn't all that great. It is almost like i need a setting between the two to get the proper amount of ink.

Does anyone have any suggestions or knowlege on what i should do?

Thanks

Have you tried Versaworks RIP? I am much happier with the print quality from Versaworks than Flexi, I mainly use Rolands media profiles with Oracal media with great rusults, tried Oracal profiles and ink levels seem way too high.

The preset from Oracal probably doesn't have the correct profile. You might try setting your ink limits in lieu of profiling.

Thanks for the information. As for Versaworks, yes i have tried that and it is the same results as the FMXPress settings in flexi. The richness of the print just isn't there as if i use the Random Diffusion setting.

As for setting the ink limits i am going to try that now and see if that helps.

Thanks again

start using v-works, i used to use flexi rip and had similar issues. once you start using vworks it will be fine.

I used to use versaworks but thought i'd give flexi a try. Guess that was a waste! Where does everyone find their profiles for Versaworks? or do you just use the standard Roland media settings for the according media?
