fonts folder question

James Chrimes

I have designed a logo for a customer who is paying for all of the designs in differant formats and also wants the font files that go with it. The fonts are ones like Antique Grotesque and Helvetica med. I designed the logos in gerber omega and picked the fonts from my installed fonts. However when I went to my fonts folder they are not showing up in there. Is there another place I can retreave them from or am I out of luck? Thanks again Jim

you can't really include the fonts as there are licenses concerning fonts. Gerber fonts are all in the Gerber program and all are .GSF fonts. why does the customer want these fonts? to write additional copy?

For archiving purposes, I have moved your thread to the Fonts & Typography Forum.

There are three points to make to you in reply to your question:

1. The fonts supplied to you with Gerber software are in a proprietary format that only works in Gerber software.

2. The fonts supplied to you with Gerber software typically do not have exact matching versions in TrueType, PostScript or OpenType versions. They were modified by Gerber years ago without concern for such needs. Their Helvetica Medium does not match any version of Helvetica you will find in the world of commercial fonts.

3. You are outside your legal rights as a licensee if you supply your client with the fonts even if they are available, unless you go out and purchase separate licensed copies for them.
