gas pricing signs (not LED)

Anyone have a source for gas pricing signs with the changeable numbers, they cannot be LED, that would be in violation of our city sign code (don't even get me started on that)

We have a Wal Mart that sells gas and their pricing sign is attached to their canopy, must be 24" plastic numbers on a type of tracking behind a clear plex face.

That thing must be 25' in the air, I can't believe they get on a ladder and change that thing, also we have an Enmark station that has basically the same setup about the same height.

Anyone know how the pricing changes? Anyone know what direction I need to be looking at?

Thanks in advance.

Usually they change those numbers with a suction cup on a long pole. That is the only part of your question I am qualified to help you with.

I know all about the Gemini stuff, but what throws me is the clear plastic covering the pricing numbers. From the ground it doesn't look like that is on any kind of tracking.

I may have to get a gallon of gas and look up the whole time I'm pumping.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Quit buggin' me
I think Gemini track letters max out at about a foot tall , 2 foot might have to be a custom job. Throw a rock at it and see falls down......

We do LOTS of price signs for gas stations. Sounds like it is mechanical rotating number system. Send me some pictures and I will try to help you out.

Thanks for the responses on the gas pricing sign. How would you design a rotating mechanical numbering system? Seems like to get 0 - 9 in a rotating system would take up tons of room in a cabinet. (But what do I know?)

I'll try to get some close up pics tomorrow.

Thanks again.

signguy 55, do you have friends in high places? Ask around about a scissors platform and have them help you get a closer look. Take photos, measurements, etc and then search good ole google for the suppliers.

I think I'll just sit in the parking lot around 7 in the morning and look and see how the employees do the price change!!!! Around here they're going up and down sometimes twice in a single day.

Saw somewhere on line to be ready for $4.15 gallon gas by summer.

Headrick Sign company in laurel, Ms used to make price change signs. They are not led, but metal panels that has a control box at the bottom. Press a button, and it would flip a panel on the sign.
