Getting ready to pull the trigger on a HP 335

My HP l25500 is on it's last leg, getting ready to pull the trigger on the 335.

I got quotes from Grimco and Lexjet for $14,495 with no trade in option for my l25500

Anyone purchased one recently with knowledge to share?

For what I do, I don't see the need to spend $3.5k more for the 365, is there much of a difference that I should?

I use all canned profiles.

Can you find a 360 on clearance? They are going for sub $15,000 here from a few dealers.

The only difference between the 360 and 365 is the firmware update.

Having a 330, I'd get the 360 or 365 simply to avoid the substrate loading system on the 330. I can't tell if it's the same or not, but I imagine it is the same as the 330.

If you get a core that is a bit too tight, you have to fight with the stops to pull them out. They eventually snap off and you have to use the rod to push it out from the other side.

That's my only complaint with the 330. I didn't need the other features the 360 had, but I'd have tried to spend the extra money just to get the better loading system, if we had realized the difference.

We have a couple of the 360s left in stock. With a trade in you can get it for $15,495. Definitely worth the little difference. The only thing not included with the 360, that the 365 has is the quick solutions app.

the only thing i think that would benefit me would be the extra speed on the 360, I don't see myself using the spectrophotometer

am i missing anything???

• Print double sided
• Print on porous textiles with the ink collector kit
• Automated ICC color profiling with on board

Its not only a spectrophotometer, it is a complete onboard profiling possibility which helps producing much better color quality.

The 315/335 are equipped with an x-cutter too (its new). And the 365 will be delivered in addition to what you've said with the counterweight kit for the take-up-reel too ... need to be ordered separately for the 360, of course only if needed.

Correct- the nice thing is the tension assembly can be ordered for free for the 360 if you open a support case. The old 310/330 didn't have the X cutter but the new 315/335 do.

If you do many posters you might want to think about hanging onto the 25500.
The 300 series printers only really print well on coated papers.
We have 360s and they are great - we use the profiling/linearisation feature a lot.

I didn't do enough homework, I assumed the 560 was one of the giant printers... I do like the no spindle aspect of it, but i don't think i print enough to justify the cost.

can't seem to find an answer as to if i can print from flexi 10 to the 335, some same yes some say no... anyone?

Most likely no. Since 10 way predates the 335, the only way it would even be possible is if there's a 330 driver for Flexi 10, and you could use that. Not something I'd want to try.

it IS a complete profiling solution. Of course we could discuss professional or semi-professional features missing, but HP keeps this functionality simple by intention. For all the people wo regularly using profiles from the internet or coming with the RIP, this functionality is a big improvement ... and this are 80 - 90% of the users.

Its the same size as the 360 and 335, a lot faster though. (The 335 comes with Flexi so that will be fine)

335:
