GR640 - Carriage Error - Blade slams down

My GR640 was working perfect as it should.
Friday we left the shop with it working perfect and turned off after a job.
This morning (Monday) we went to go do some cuts and it returns back a carriage error after the blade slams down. It does this during a test cut AND when sending from versaworks, so it's not a computer issue.

Any insight? I've looked all over, can't find any answers.

The error is related to the cut carriage not moving up and down properly.
Remove the blade holder and see if you still get the error.
Most likely you will need the cut carriage signal cable

it is most likely going to be the signal cable from the cut carriage board to the main board. Could be the main board and also could be the cut carriage itself.
That cable lies flat and it bounces around. I haven’t had to cha one on a Roland cutter, but that particular style design gets changed frequently on Roland printers of the same design.

Is there any way to test what it is first before I start aimlessly part replacing?

Managed to fix the carriage motor error issue. The right sensor just needed to be unplugged/replugged. Now back to the blade slamming down and erroring out.

So seems it wasn't the ribbon cable being at fault since it's new now.
Any suggestions?
