Hi all, I'm currently printing a series of door badges for one of my local departments in grey scale. That in of itself isn't too much an issue. Having tried to print greys in CMYK and having them green tinted wasn't in the cards, so I designed everything as greyscale and printed in greyscale. I'm printing on a Mutoh 1204, using a variable dot output with three passes. Overall, it's not too bad. The greys and blacks are where I want them except for the dreaded hairline lines in the darker shades:
Now, it's not that visible at all on the lighter colors, so I'm trying to figure out if the black head is missing a few nozzles or if my feed speed is off. From a foot away you can't even tell. I have not done a nozzle test yet, I'm just looking for a little input on where to start.
Forgot to add, designed in Corel, and exported to Flexi for the RIP as a .jpg.
