Hate to hear it

I just found out that one of my suppliers closed and transferred their phones to another place. They variety wasnt that large but for what they had the prices were pretty good. I know 2 others from around here used them for a lot of their needs.

Just sucks to hear it. I think they closed all three of their warehouses.

We also had a local supplier close up shop recently..... well, within the last year. They had two locations and great inventory and prices. Service that could not be matched... until towards the end.

They were around before I got into the business 40 years ago and now they're gone. It just goes to show you.... it can happen to anyone.... anytime.

I recently had Glantz shift their Brooklyn location to NJ.
They now don't deliver to my area which is a pain.Ironically I had someone call me up from head office a few weeks back and questioned why my orders were now on the low side to zero!!! Go figure.

Last year here in Florida, Freddies Plastics shut down their two locations. They had been around about fifty years or so. The last few years they were open, their service went to total shyte. Botched orders, standard materials not in stock. It's bound to happen in any industry. Unless you maintain tight control of the important things needed to run any business successfully, somebody better will be waiting in line to pick up the pieces.

We had the same Freddie's experience here. First order right on the ball... after that it was all downhill. Hated to see them close, but you have to keep up with the customer service nowdays if you want to stay in business.

My experience with this place was awesome. Customer service was great, and only once did they not have what I needed in stock. They always had the colors instock that I needed. Everywhere else would tell me that they carried every color of Arlon or Oracal, but when I would ask about any other color other than black, white, brown, or blue, they would have to special order it for me. Hate that. If they offer it on their website, it should be int their warehouse unless noted otherwise.

Yes I enjoyed Freddies myself for many years and when they moved downtown Orlando I shopped more there what a shock and shame to see them close, yes I get same stuff other places but now everything is scattered or much farther.
A good lesson in give it your best service, do the most you can, and enjoy them as customers.

Consolidation is the term...used to put the smaller firms out of business...
If you wont sell out( at rock bottom)..then they price you out of business.
If you see this happening to your company..either get off your ass or sell out asap.
Move on..or(better..but hard to swallow) get a job with the new owner.
the pits..but still pays the bills.
