Have you done a Mosquito Joe transit?

Just curious, I have been asked to work up a design for a Ford Flex in lieu of the Transit. Has anyone done them? It's pretty much a color change with green on the bottom and text, are these done in one wrap piece or trapped with yellow and green then vinyl applied to the rest.

Do most of you prefer to print a wrap with text on it or add it after to assure proper alignment?

Thanks!

I haven't.

However, I work text and other elements into my design usually. This is also where good templates come in handy. Saves a lot of time scaling and positioning.

Why aren't the words "mosquito" and "joe" running parallel????

I haven't even seen that company around here, but from the other similar (franchise) companies we do installs for I would assume that the yellow is a color change wrap with all of the other elements applied over it. I am not sure why they all mostly do it like that, but they do.

If I set it up here, it'd be one piece...

:goodpost:That make a lot of sense to me, UNLESS they are using a custom PMS YELLOW that is NOT available from the manufacture!

Are you SURE?

I don't believe that is the case, to keep the costs DOWN, auto makers have STANDARD paint colors they purchase in BULK, mixing a custom color would upset the automation process, you would have to FLUSH out the paint lines to the robotic spray painters to change to a custom paint, not practical!

You need to get out of the 2000's. You can't buy many Fords for $25K. Maybe a Ford Fiesta and they aren't going to shut the line down and mix a custom color for a bottom of the line single vehicle purchase.

Looked at a Ford Truck price lately? I looked last week. 5 different models ranged from $35,000-$57,000 for a pickup truck.

Almost all of these vehicles for these franchises are lease vehicles. So, they lease a white vehicle from the lease company (as white has the highest lease return/resale value) and they can color-change wrap it any color from there. Custom painted vehicles are much harder to sale, and if it was painted a custom Pantone color, many companies wouldn't want ex-vehicles running around still looking like part of their fleet. (like when you see old DHL vans driving around) The new Police cars aren't even painted black & white - the white is a wrap - because of them being hard to resale after they leave service without painting them.

I would print it all as one piece... Not die-cut letters... But that is just me... I would use the phone number for alignment to make sure it is straight.

Just following YOUR words....

"A" is not equal to "A Fleet".

Two different things. I'm sure they would paint a fleet of vehicles. That's not what you said, which is what I was disagreeing with.

Are you serious? The guy that picks apart anything and everything anyone posts and now when someone calls you out on your own words, I'm supposed to know you were speaking in "general terms" rather than specific? Get serious. Next time you call out someone for something, take your own advice.
