Head rank #...?

Anyone know if there is a way to retrieve head rank # if it is not readable on
the side? This is an old head that I know was good when I replaced it. I was
soaking it in cleaning fluid and accidentally wiped off the number.

i've done this as well, now I score the plastic with a register mark and keep a manual log of my head ranks when I replace my heads... just in case.

un-retrievable once you've changed the head rank # on your printer, but the existing head rank that's programmed in should work just fine.
otherwise, I was once able to retrieve the code by using a loop to see the "ghost" of the head rank on the printed label. Even if you wiped it clean, the original copy might still be visible to a keen eye under magnification.

Thank you, sounds like I may be up sh**creek. This is the head that came
on the printer originally. I replaced both because the black was not printing
well. Now black is not printing again in less than a year. I thought maybe the
good one I replaced might still be good.

If it is the original head for the machine the head rank should be written on the head cable. It was written on mine when I took it apart the first time. They tell you in the falcon jr. book to write the head rank on the cable.

If it is the original machine, it might be your lucky day. Mutoh usually has the original paramaters printed, rolled up, and taped inside the machine somewhere.
