Heater settings, any " ballpark" guidelines?

I running an SP 300. I know that u can set the heaters anywhere from 98 deg. up to 122 deg. I have always picked an average heat setting but I never have had any idea on what I should be using for heat settings.:help

I am using orical 3651 most of the time and Vyjet banner material. I usually set it higher for the banner material but I really have no clue if I should be using certain settings for different materials.

Thanks for any info!

On our SP540V we run the heaters at 38 pre and 39 post for everything. Used to run a tad hotter(40 and 41), but JetFlex changed the banner material. Too much heat made it soft as it ran over the post heat platen.
Keep a close eye on temp and humidity in your shop. Simple way to eliminate some variables.

If you are using VersWorks, under "Printer Controls" in the "Heater Controls" drop down select "Use default media settings". This will make VeraWorks control the heater, and it will be the heat settings that are best for the icc media profile you have selected to print with.

My general guideline is as hot a possible with minimal buckling. Generally for standard vinyl I am around the mid to high 30's Celsius with the post heat cranked all the way up. For banner it is a bit higher at around low 40's.
