Good New England afternoon to all of you. I started in the printing business 1995 screen printing t-shirts today a run 1-stop print shop offering a variety of custom printed apparel, sings & banners, posters, decals etc. I have several design software but do 95% of my design in CorelDraw which I have been using since 1996 version 5

I am here because I came across a number of post while searching for information regarding print head replacement for Roland SC540 ex which was bought brand new around 2004-2005. My black which has been dying for a while now is finally dead and my yellow and light cyan is only printing 1 side. I also have a Mutoh falcon which has been sitting for a few years which I will need to overhaul.

So here are a few questions which I would greatly appreciate any help with.
1. Obtaining a service manual for both machines especially the Roland
2. A source for competitively priced DX4 print heads
3. Has any tried using cleaned print head from companies that offer cleaning services ( I have seen advertising that claim to restore heads to like new condition at significant savings)

Thanks in advance for any information

Welcome from OK

I have restored heads that have set in a barn for over 2 years full of ink. I did not have the cleaning equipment to do a real through job. But, they did work. I'd at least give the cleaning companies a try.

Manuals I cant help you with but the printheads well I tried a cleaning service once to me it wasnt worth it they couldnt recover either of the print heads to my satisfaction but billed me anyways as they said they were exceptable. Personally I would soak them in flush and then try pushing fluid through them manually with a syringe. If you go to youtube you can see a video on the print head doctor its expensive (about the cost of 2 or 3 heads but you own it for life) I have a similar setup that I built my self and it has worked pretty well.

As for DX4 heads they are not cheap period.
