HELP!!!! CX 24 Problem!

I cannot get my Camm-1 to register the width of the vinyl, and it won't cut!
When i load the vinyl and hit enter, it only goes to the left and parks there. Its not a bad position, and its not giving any errors. If i move the head back and hit origin, and then send the file, all it does is a quick feed out and back, like it does at the end of a job.
I've tried turning it off and on, unplugging, i went through all the settings and nothing has changed. Any help would be awesome!
Thanks in advance!

This may be just a bump for you. The only thing I can think of is that the clamp roller is not positioned over the bottom roller. Since it moves in and out that may not be the problem but, it may have something to do with it

Thats almost the way its acting, but its positioned correctly. If it where not, it would give a bad position error. Thanks though.

I feel for you ParkedCar. Maybe some of my info can help.
Last year my old Pentium w/ XP crashed. I bought a Dell with Vista and found out Flexi 7 wasn't supported so I returned it and had an IT friend build a PC w/XP. Next problem was the trouble your having. I believe to solve it I went online to the Roland site and downloaded a driver for my Camm24 Roland.

I dont think its a communication problem though. Because the blade wont return back to the right pinch roller after it scans the width. It does this regardless if its hooked to the computer of not.
But i did take it apart and clean all the sensors and hit it all with a blast of canned air to get all the dust out. It's still doing the same thing, except when i first turned it back on, and hooked it back to the computer, it cut a piece of the last job, but sideways, and not at all in the same position.
Now its acting the same, but it does give me the width of the media.
I'm going to try and reinstall the firmware tomorrow.
Thanks for the help though!

what OS you running? what are you trying to CUT FROM?
if its XP and you d/l SP3, thats your problem.
if not that then the driver you have isnt the right one. the machine is doing what it does, and it will do that EVEN NOT CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER!!!
got to www.rolanddg.com and gwt this file, DELETE OLD DRIVER, and install this one.
d029270j.exe (310KB)

I'm running XP SP1 for the last 3 years.
I run it inside parallels on my mac, and i've never had an issue. All i use XP for is Flexi.
I'm downloading the latest firmware and new driver. Thanks for the help.
Hopefully this is the fix as there is NO way i can afford a new plotter right now.

How do i load the driver for the printer?
I followed the instructions, and it put the driver under printers, and i dont know how to use that driver for the plotter.
I also tried installing new firmware, but thats not working either.

So the download won't work in flexi? Is that because flexi already has all the drivers?
I emailed roland and i'm still waiting the hear back.
This sucks.......

FLEXI has its drivers IN THE PROGRAM. that driver i told you to get will make COREL cut direct to plotter. if you have corel, you could load it and try it, just to see if its the cutter or FLEXI.

Problem Fixed!!
Something in the settings got messed up with rotation or whatever. I've never touched that setting so i have no idea how it happened, especially since it was right in-between jobs. But that doesn't matter. I'm just happy it wasn't broken.
Thanks for your help though!
