help, head strikes on paper 1618 VJ

Hey guys I have a mutoh vj 1618 and I'm trying to print stickers but I keep getting head strikes I'm going nuts I put the heads on high I lowerd the heating to min and the paper still curls and I get blackhead strikes. Can you guys help me please.

Paper is a pain to print on a solvent printer.
I have tried a couple of different brands all with similar results as you are getting.
I would give the job to someone with a water based printer.

Why is the paper catching on the front and buckling?
Media clamps?
Dont stretch the pinch rollers so far apart.
Work loop pulled off from roll?


I have issues but some of this helps me when I have to do large photos :0)

I print a lot on paper with my 1204 and use FDC. But I don't think he's printing on paper because he said " stickers" . Let us know what media you are using and what profile, that might help.

What is vynle? Is that some new material?

vinyl is a very strong and durable plastic material.

I assume the Mutoh has a fan that pulls the material down like the Rolands - what is the fan speed at?

just checked theres no option for vacum
