Help reinstalling 4E. Fred? Tony?

I shut down my 4E last November.
It was getting too choppy for cut vinyl but still worked great for pounce patterns.
Yesterday I took everything up to my garage.
It's not even a whole year later and I am clueless as to how to set this up now.
I plugged the 4E into my ancient Win98SE, which has never been online and still works fine.
Dongle intact. No LMK module required.
When I am in GA6.2 and send to the plotter nothing happens.
The job is listed in the spooler but the plotter doesn't move.
I think it's a setting
(see first pic)
I think I used to have to set it to GDS Plot but I can't remember.
(see second pic)
Any advice?
I also have pix of what I see when I click the device tab.
Need to have patterns for a big job Thursday so any help is appreciated.
Would rather not hand pounce these.
:thankyou:
Love....Jill

Hmmm its been a long time, one thing you could try is to install it on every com port that seems to be available to you in GA and try selecting each port one by one in plotter select when you output, possibly it does not like com 1.

and you might have to hit return after you go to GDS plot, I seem to remember them switching to "gds ready"

I will watch and see what you experience next, I used to install a LOT of these.

Jill,
Go to your device manager (r click my computer, go to properties, then hardware then device mngr) and make sure there is not a problem with your com port. Click on the plus sign next to com ports, if you see a yellow exclamation point then highlight it and r click then hit uninstall; restart your computer and let windows see it and reinstall, it will do it automatically.

Jill,
Did you shut down and reboot when you hooked it up? I seem to remember Gerber has trouble detecting ports unless you reboot every time a port setting is changed or assigned.

As Craig said

"and you might have to hit return after you go to GDS plot, I seem to remember them switching to "gds ready"" - thats the only thing I can think of. You pics all look correct.

I think we have one unit but I need to find it and I know it's NOT in the building I'm in.

Please write it down so next time we will refer the problem to you.

Thanks Craig.

Can you imagine, as great as the Signmaker was we only have one in the entire company. Sad, I should have stashed away a bunch of stuff. One more month and it will be 35 years, yikes.

I miss the old beast too...I have a couple of old sprints that are sitting in the shed beside the lawnmower...I feel so cruel.

35 years! wow!

Glad your up and running Jill!
