Hi, I was born to a sign writer father, old school sable brush all his life since young, the guy was awsome at it, man, was he good! He died recently very suddently, he was doing small jobs at this stage, but even on the day he died he made his brushes dance on a small 'for sale' sign. So I grew up watching him drawiwg, which he loved with a passion, designing , making signs, well the whole process, every day of my life, so its in my DNA. I'm a drawer and painter too, I was involved in the construction industry for some years and a few years ago I returned to sign writing, computerized style and also doing the odd brush work. I keep it simple for now, computer and plotter cutter, also do installations for other sign writers etc. Trying hard to get my business flying at cruise altitude, but we all know that things go up and down all the time, just got to stay focused and learn new things too. It's a pleasure to be here, I'm a happy man in sign writers heaven now!!!!!!!!
Cheers!!!!!
Elio.

Welcome from sunny Queensland where as you the whole state is flooded. What was your dad's name Elio? Was he in the Signcraftsmen's association. I may have known him. I joined back in 1976. I know a lot of the members from all over the east coast. Anyway good luck and have fun on this site. We are a great bunch of people here.

Hi Dave and sorry, forgot to say that my father did all his work in Southamerica, I was born over there too, while working on and off with my dad I also did arquitectural drafting at tech school over there and came to Australia in my 20s, worked here in house renovations and other for years, then after my son was born something hit me, I simply had it with 'the job' and went back to do that thing I loved, it's a mix of many reasons, first got the talent and doesn't feel like a 'job' to me, I really like it, want to be the master of my own destimy, as much as that is really possible, also I figured I also want my son to have the chance to learn this creative stuff with me at home, he's 4, it may give him a good base for whatever he may wanna do later creatively if he chooses this or anything with a visual slant to it, can't imagine what this type of work will be like in the future, anyway I stretched myself too long, so yeah, my dad lived overseas all his life Dave, thanks for asking anyway. And by the sounds, you'll be doing a bit of sign making and repair for any signs under the water line over there in Queensland, cheers!!!!

Hi people, quick question: Other than hand paintig a boat transon, what type of vinyl is more adecuate and lasting, considering the hot summer sun in Australia and the fact this boat goes sailing in the rogh seas a lot? The design is about 2m long, simple lines, 2 colours. Thanks
