Customer is asking about getting prints etc for hockey rink: dasher boards (the boards in a hockey rink), center ice graphics and pounced patterns. Does anyone have any suggestions on vinyl types etc?

fiberglass paneling, most likely. go with something high tack, like Arlon DPF8000 to be safe ....otherwise try a sample of your regular wall logo vinyl, could work just fine.

We used IJ40 with ARLON 3590 in the past for a couple local skating rinks.... held up pretty well, only down side was the gloss. We would use a Matte Polycarbonate laminate next time.

ice graphics don't matter as much.... anything that will stick to painted concrete & withstand the elements.
hockey rink is concrete flooring, iced-over painted white, painted striping, and then iced-over again.

Thank you. Those are pretty much what I had in mind. I guess the thicker 4mill stuff is easier (for rink staff) to apply as well. Also an embossed lam.

Our rink boards are covered with a sheet of lexan so we mount the prints on a thin sheet of styrene. Lots will mount direct to the boards.

As for the ice, I think they use mesh banner material which allows the air and water to release and makes for easier application. This would be put down after the painted white and a few layers of ice, then the mesh with a lot more layers of ice.

I am looking for a source that might print larger than the 54" that I can, as the 32 foot circles will make for a very large amount of mesh.
