How cold can a 3ml vinyl withstand long term?

Have a request for labels going on jars that will be permanently frozen.... If I print them on the Mimaki, I would not think that it would be a problem as long as they are adhered at room temperature and allowed to cure for 24 hours?

Years ago we did a sh!tton full of labels for freezer rooms. They were adhered in frozen temperatures. They lasted a few years from what I was told. There were some failures, but this company ordered 25,000 at a time about every 4 months, so there was always some left over for repairs. Ours were eco-sol inks.

I don't have experience with this, but I think they would be fine. Double check the product data sheet for your material of course. For example, Avery says their 2900 high performance calendered vinyl should be just fine within a "reasonable" service temperature of -40C to 82C.

I would think a cast producet would be fine, after all there are lots of vehicles/signs in the acrtic lettered with vinyl, not to mentioned the extreme cold aircraft graphics are subjected to. But I wouldn't make any guarantees....

yeah, we've had aisle markers (dibond panel with cast 3M vinyl) installed in warehouse freezers for near a decade now with no issue.
if you tried applying in that environment, however, expect a LOT of torn/shredded graphics.
