Hp Designjet L25500 Printhead squirt

Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem. Monday morning first thing back from the weekend I tried to print but Cyan wasn't firing. Light Cyan was as well as all other colors. I changed out the Cyan/L Cyan print heads (both) and it was fine. Today I tried printing and it went well for 2 feet but then Cyan started to stop firing again. I popped out the #2 cyan first and then when i popped out the #1 cyan printhead it started to squirt ink from the nozzle in the carriage that the printheads go onto. I had to plug it up and pull the plug but it still kept squirting. I had to put a kink in the ink line to get it to stop. Any help with this printer issue is appreciated

The HP Latex printers pressurize the ink delivery system (IDS) when printing. There is a pump that preforms this pressurization. Before replacing consumables like ink cartridges and printheads, it is very important that the user inform the machine of their intentions via the front control panel before beginning the procedure. This causes the printer to depressurize the ink delivery system first.
If the IDS did not depressurize before PH replacement is performed, it is likely that ink would pour out of the carriage interconnect. Typically, you can near a loud hissing sound as the IDS depressurizes.

thanks for the response. I actually popped out all the printheads and it was only one of the pressurized nozzles which lead me to believe that nozzle that the printheads plug into was faulty. to test this, i opened up the carriage and swapped the postion of that nozzle (i might be using the rong term- its the tube with a metal cap that the needle on the printheads go into). After swapping the cyan nizzle from printhead position 1 with the one from position 2 and doing the same thing, the ink came out from the same nozzle, not the position and from nowhere else. Anybody have a part number for those little guys? I have part #CH956-67040 for the whole assemble leading all the way back to the ink cartridges along with circuit boards and wiring but thats a bit pricey I only need the little nozzles.

In case anybody else has the issue this is what was wrong. Apparently the little rubber prongs that the printhead needles plug into can go bad from age & heat. This particualr one that was quirting actually got clogged and the spring loaded mechanism that seals it off was no longer doing it's job.

I noticed over the past few months that the Cyan/ Light Cyan printheads were not lasting nearly as long as the rest. I got maybe 2000-3000ml out of them and sometimes as low as 100.

Sadly I could not find a place that sold the little pieces and had to replace the entire ink supply line to get them. I hope this helps anybody else with Cyan printhead issues.
