Recently we replaced the motherboard and switched out a failed hard drive in our HP FB500. After firing the printer up we noticed the heads were way out of calibration. After some research we attempted to perform the manual X calibrations (see attached photos) and found that we could get the heads to move in increments of 60 pixels. Any attempts to move them further would result in the heads returning to "zero."
We've replaced the encoder strip, ran every test in the service menu, re-calibrated what we could and made no progress. To make matters worse, the carriage head no longer sits directly above the service station and is causing ink to build up on the side plate.
It should be noted that while the printer is branded as FB500, the operating system shows it as FB550. We were told that shouldn't interfere anything.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
