HP Flexi Print & Cut barcodes and cuting help (noob)

Hoping Frank W or someone with experience can help get us noobs started. Been using a new HP Latex 115 P&C that BigfishDM set us up with for a few weeks now. The printer is great, but we haven't been able to move beyond direct cut with the cutter (e.g. into barcodes). We're printing legit black and yellow HP barcodes, and have lots of read errors, but it seems that whenever we can get a good read, we're not passing good pressure info, and the cutter always runs too deep, tears the media, etc. Seems like it is always running at 225gm or whatever the default pressure is, not matter what settings we change. We started with poster paper, where we need to run about 70gm, but we've also tried 5 mil GAV with no difference in behavior. Not a cutter problem, as we can run a direct cut job just fine. There's something we can't figure out between getting a successful read, and passing the right pressure/speed information.

Anyone have some clear tips on what we should look for?

If having reading errors with barcodes, make shure you check the following:
  • be shure that the barcode is completely within the outer pinch rollers, or the cutting width is extended with the „extended load“-function (can be found in the System Setup - Actions-Menu)
  • Do a media calibration (system setup - Calibrations-Menu). If wanting a quick test without printing a test swatch with a given print, just increase the value from default 30 to 50 or 70.
If your plotter seem to apply other pressure values than set on the plotters display, it could be that a different value is set in the cutting parameters in Flexi. In the Contour Cut-Tab in the RIP & Print-Window, when selecting the contour colour, there is an options butten where you can select or deselect values.
