HP L25500 Color issue

I'm flat out tired of the colors I am getting. I can not get anything close to a good red. Onyx Rip


I have tried RGB, CMYK red, CMYK red with 10% black, Pantone 485, Spot color red.

I increased passes on printer. No matter what I do it is a orange red. I can print any of these with my roland and they look great but its only 30" max print.

Maybe try 100%Y,100%M or 100%Y, 100%M 6%B

Check your print heads. Perhaps Magenta don't work properly ( you could use the test pattern in the head cleaning menu).

Pantone 1795 is a really red, red.... Try that one.

What ICC's are you using? Granted I run Flexi, not Onyx, but...

HP's Oracal profiles give me orange reds every time. If I use Oracal's ICC, I get brilliant reds that are true. I find colors much better using the mfr's profiles.

I get great true reds with my L25500 and I use onyx. What media are you printing on? What profiles are you using? Are you doing your own ICC's?
