HP L25500 printing help

Our number 3 YK print head after about 6' - 10' of printing comes up saying replace YK print head. We pull out the print head and stick it back in and it will print again. We have tried everything, we have replaced 5 new YK print heads, the oil felts and bearings on the carriage, the flex cables on the carriage and the carriage pca board. We did a print yesterday and it still came up saying the same thing. We just got done doing a print today and it was not very good quality, the color was all blurry for some reason after we have done calibrations and everything. I attached some pictures of a test print we just got done doing as well.

HP Latex printheads are warranted as a separate consumable from the printer's warranty. That warranty is for 1 liter of ink to pass through the printhead. You state that it is the #3 YK printhead that is consistently causing the error, so I would clean the inter-connect on the carriage for that head. Then, I would replace the head. The machine will automatically calibrate the printheads after head swaps or replacements. Then attempt to print. If it fails in short order (< 10 inches of print), swap heads in slots 3 and 4 and see if the error moves to #4 or stays in the same place, #3.

There may be an issue with the carriage electronics for that slot if the problem is consistent for head #3.

We have done that multiple times actually. We have also replaced pretty much every part on the carriage and it still said the head was bad yesterday so it can't be any of that. We have also switched out #3 and #4 as well.

I am not sure what else is really left to try to fix it. Right now we are just trying to fix the problem with the prints being blurry. I will have to get a picture when I am back at the shop to show what I am talking about.

Have you called HP? They will give you a week of phone support for $35 per issue.

I wonder if the ink line is a little clogged up.

Let us know if you figure it out.

Air in the ink line can burn heads out.
If you change carts without depressurising thru the front panel this can happen I believe.
