HP L310 Firmware Update Woes

I noticed my HP L310 hasn't been updating firmware and is on an almost year old version. Not sure why, it's definitely connected to the internet.

So, I tried updating manually VIA the EWS. It goes all the way to 99%, then errors out saying either it is an invalid file, or there is not enough space. I also tried using a 2 GB USB thumb drive with nothing on it but the FW file in the root directory. That wouldn't work either, with the printer complaining the drive didn't contain a valid FW file.

Current level is: NEXUS_00_04_10.2

Any ideas on what else I can try here?

Thanks!

do a manual load of the same firmware...4_10.2 after printer re-boots it should automatically go out and download latest version...colors will be dramatically improved.

I can't even begin to explain how excited it makes me to hear you say colors will be a dramatic difference. I've yet to be thrilled with the output of this printer.

With that being said, where can I download 4_10.2? Hopefully I can get it from you guys, or HP. I discovered this weekend they are a M-F support for commercial printing. :banghead:

Of course you are right. My bad. Send me your email address and I will ask my service mgr to send you instructions to correct fix (if Castek doesn't resolve for you first).

Update for future help to a user that might run into this issue:

I got a hold of HP, and this is a known issue. They will have you flash the printer with 4.10.3, and then to the latest. You will likely get a few replacement print heads as well that may have been effected by this faulty firmware, so be sure to ask HP about that. I am going to attempt writing the FW here shortly, and will edit this post when I do that to report my results. Stellar support by HP!
