HP Latex 335 magenta splatter issue

I have an issue on a latex 335 where it prints a light magenta splatter in non-print (white areas) I am new to this printer but have learned from fellow employees that this has been an ongoing issue for some time. The issue has persisted through many head cleanings and head replacements, as well as on all substrates. I have attached a picture of the issue. The spatters appear as gray on the picture, but are definitely magenta. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

There is a setting in the Image Quality Maintenance Menu to enable this or disable this, called Color Variation and text-lines Sharpness Correction- Disable this. It is located within the Image Quality Maintenance Menu. See attached (pic is from a 36x front panel for the format will appear different on the 335 with a smaller screen).

Thanks so much. That fixed it. I'm coming from a commercial offset printing background and this is a whole ne adventure.
