Need Help HP Latex 360 OMAS Sensor throwing errors, any way to make the printer ignore them?

Hi
The OMAS Sensor on my HP Latex 360 is currently not working correctly, due to an ink spillage we had previously where some ink fell onto it and now it doesn't seem to be able to detect substrate.

We realized this sensor wasn't really mandatory for the printer to be able to print properly, and that you can disable it through the service menu, we did this for some time as replacing the sensor was quite expensive (for us) and not worth it.
It worked fine until recently, where now the sensor throws firmware errors (code 50:03) when the printer is starting thus not letting us print anything. Weirdly there are some days where it doesn't throw any errors and others where it doesn't want to work no matter how many times we restart.

My question is: is there any way to make the printer ignore these errors/let us use the printer anyways? or is there no other option than replacing it? we'll also try replacing the cable first to see if that makes it work.

Any advice is appreciated!

I recommend you to check again... It's related to the OMAS PCA.
I checked again.. you're right, maybe the OMAS is fine but the cable is what's broken? I assumed the OMAS wasn't working because we went through a few ink spillages due to an unrelated problem (now fixed) and it got a lot of ink spilled all over it and it's circuit board so we assumed it died (just to clarify we did clean the ink thoroughly after the fact).
We'll have to try finding a replacement for the cable and see what happens, if not replace the whole sensor too
