HP Latex 54 Basic Plus Cutter stopping part way through cut job

Hi, I'm looking for any advice anyone might be able to lend with regards to a HP Latex 54 Basic Plus Cutter.

My cutter has suddenly started getting stuck part way through every cut job that I send. We print on 54" wide vinyl, and send cut jobs that can be up to 216" long. They are nearly always just two simple rectangular artworks. We cut in panel mode, and have had no issues over the past 2 years until this weekend. Each time we send a cut job, the cutter starts normally until it completes the 3rd panel. Then, it seems like it doesn't quite advance the substrate far enough and subsequently can't find the cut marks for the 4th panel.

We've tried feeding the same cut job backwards using the barcode at the other end, and the exact same thing happens. Whenever we load the material, we are sure to check that the loaded dimensions are 1969x52 (I've seen the error before where the sensor thinks the vinyl length is shorter and therefore can't find the cut marks).

I've just wiped and reinstalled Flexi with no change.

I've read chatter on here about static electricity and using a Shielded SFTP ethernet cable. I've just ordered one to try out tomorrow, but am skeptical if this is the issue because we've had no problems with static electricity over the past 2 years so I'm not sure why it would suddenly start now.

Any other ideas for troubleshooting I can try? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Strange, that it only started now.
I had a case with a non-plus cutter, Flexi and Ethernet connection. (Didn't cut to the end.) With USB, it doesn't happen. Maybe some Windows update.

Clean the grit rollers properly. Make sure you have autoload turned on. When it gets to that point make sure it's not pulling from the roll quickly but it should unwind it first slowly.
Always use the core holders.

Oh yeah and upgrade your firmware if it's two years old.
