I need edge help!

Hi everyone i hope someone can help me.
I have been using my edge with signlab8 and a store bought parrell to usb cable. It has been working fine but today i went to print and nothing happened. The design was sent to the edge with no errors and the edge had no errors but it did not start printing . It just sat there online.
Any clues??????

did it even ask for a foil, or did it act like it never received the data?
do you have another cable to swap out in an effort to isolate the problem?

Check to make sure nothing changed in Signlab for the address/port of the Edge.

Thanks Guys i took the edge to where i got it and pluged it into thier computer works fine so its my computer . played with the ports for a couple hours and finally started working but today samething . send info and no response . Do i need the cable from gerber? i dont understand why its worked all summer on a store bought parallel to usb cable if thats the problem. oh ya i tried omega4 and i get a usb error if that helps

Are you connected directly to the parallel port or are you using a USB to Parallel adapter?

Sorry I'm not familiar with Signlab....but are you running 64bit Win7 by any chance?

If you have Omega 4.0 installed try downloading SP1 and then the usb drivers here:

I had a hell of a time when we upgraded to Win7....after weeks of screwing around (a Gerber cable wasn't available) we just went back to 32 bit XP with the original parallel cable.

thats exactly what we did...we upgraded to a new computer, windows 7 etc and we even had xp in virtual mode just to run omega. the cable was a store bought one and it wasn't doing the job so we ended up getting our old xp machine up and running again and using the old setup....much easier and no problems.
