I think I was visited by a crook!!!!

I am solo on Friday afternoons, and today it is so humid out even with the air on full I cant seemto get 48" vinyl to plot and sit correctly in the Graphtec.

So I was upstairs trying to get the vinyl to relax and stop crimping and I hear the door buzzer go off. I figured who ever it is didn't call so they can wait a minute for me downstairs. I have a camera and can see 1 figure. Generally it will be a client I know or someone flogging cheaper Hydro, gas or whatever the special is this month.

After about 45 seconds I give up on the Graphtec and start heading downstairs and this guy has gone past my counter which involves swinging open a low height door and he is out by the staircase where I am coming down.

I realize I have no idea who he is and say hey where do you think your going pal? Now I see him and he is some kinda street person or something wearing a tanktop and pretty heavily built. He is carrying his shirt and he says, hey man why you getting down on me and I reply that NOBODY just comes waltzing into this shop and there's a bell on the counter for service.
He now starts backing up as I approach, but now I realize that this thug looking character could tie me up into a pretzel and have his way with me so I say sorry man but the heat has me acting like a junk yard dog.

I then get him back behind the counter and ask him how I can help him and he says he is from a uniform sevice/overalls company and wonders if I need any for my employees.

OK now I know the guy is full of crap..... walking around to businesses with a tank top on and pretty rough looking and a few scars to boot. He presents no company to me or does he have a business card on him. I regretfully tell him we dont use uniforms and wish him a good day and stay cool.

I figure this guy is walking door to door looking to rob anyone who doesnt respond to his entrance immediately, why else would he start wandering around my shop if he were indeed a salesperson? and if you are a slaesperson who the %$#$ is going tobuy anything from you dressed like that?

Your place was just cased. Tonight while you're sleeping, he'll be back and nick everything in site. Now you won't be able to sleep, so get a good bottle of wine to help you relax this evening. At least you will sleep well while he's robbing your store.

It could also be someone trying to get in out of the heat who doesn't have good manners and is looking around for some ideas to open a sign business down the street and just stole all of your ideas.

Yeah, that's the ticket................ :clapping:

You better stay there tonight late. If I was closer I would come hang around your shop all night, that
would be one suprise when they brake in and there is the Mosh waiting for them, armed and loaded (my gun loaded too)

so anyways I call the fuzz and tell them what occured and to see if anyone has reported any thefts, but nothing. Maybe he was casing the place but based on where he wandered there was nothing for him to steal.....heck if you can walk out with a 500lb printer be my guest. We have an alarm so if it goes off I be back later.

I went to a neighbours across the way as I saw him go in there after he left my place and asked the owner if the guy wa selling him overall services. Nope the guy was looking for a job. I knew he was a scum bag!!!

Run of the mill opportunist.
I have a locked door and a 40" wide counter to keep the average wannabe in their right place.
