Ink Pump Question

Is there any way to help prevent this from happening?

The hole where the gear shaft mounts into has rounded out. This was the same thing that happened to my last pump. This pump is about 10 months old.

seems like a design flaw for sure. i figure make sure there's lots of packing grease on the interior tube. also, start rebuilding instead of replacing.

I believe this is happening because the inks(solvent based inks) are attacking the plastics. It's a chemical reaction. Actually, the plastic is "melting".

That's what I suspect as well, hence my question about using solvent ink. Are your pumps OEM or 3rd party, are they for solvent printers?
