Ink starvation? Need it fixed

SameDay Signs

New Member
Hey there I have a JV3 130spII and whenever I print a large color of anything med to dark my print will fade some and then go back t onormal printing. Just yesterday I was printing a blue car about 7' long and 2/3 way through the blue just kinda faded and then after another foot or so came back but then repeated it until the finish. It also just did this on some 2' x 2' green signs i just printined.

I have replaced the pumps, dampers cap station and all the good stuff and the heads are all good so I am a bit confused. It does tend to happend more on the green and blue then anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Did you replace the caps, dampers etc with oem parts?

I made the mistake of using aftermarket parts and the cap and a couple of dampers were defective.

Yes I actually had Advantages Sign Supply come out and do a maintenane on it and I was busyu and forgot to mention it to the guy . I did call him back and he said it could be the media or the heat but it does it on all the media and I have had the temp up to 50 and down as low as 35

you have to do a damper swap to isolate that kind of behavior in order to fix it. do some searching under "damper swap" and in just a few minutes you'll be completely aware of where the starvation is being created. also i'd get a stethoscope at an auto supply place. they are essential in tracking tiny vacuum leaks in the ink train.
