Is $3.50 each a good price for .040 alum 11x14

ordered 50 from my local supplier which is 50 miles away.
Got here and I was doing some thinking after they charged me a cutting fee on top of the 3.50 each.

24 of them at 11x14 will go into a 4x8 sheet.. at that it means that sheet was $84.00

High? Normal?

I order alum. blanks from Tublite cut to size. A sheet of .040 is around $70.00 dollars. We have switched to Elite board which is a exact copy of Alumilite. A 4 x 8 x 3 mm (1/8) is $39.50 a sheet. Local sheet metal shop cuts it for $.10 a cut.

If you can use 10"x14" Grimco has them @ 3.00 per blank they come in either white or yellow with rounded corners and holes in each corners

11 X 14, 24 TIMES =25.66 SQ FT NOT 32, which is what a 4 ft x 8 ft sheet is. unless you can cut them youre self.........i guess $84.00 is ok. reason i say this is, right now iam doing 14, 9 X 12 .040 yellow with black vinyl letters. and i got ZERO metal cost in it.
seems sometime or another i had to make some signs on yellow .040 and had 4,5 12" X 48" cut offs from 4 X 10 sheets. layin round here. iam figuring bout $15 for each sign. thats $200 bucks with pre paid leftover material.

We get ours from a local supplier for $65/sheet and cut anyway included. We usually order either .040 or .060 (sometimes thicker) but we also buy them at 10-20 pieces at a time so that could be why it is cheaper as well.

Yes your math is true but you can only get 24 11x14 out of a 4x8 sheet
You will have left over stuff

These are the kinda thoughts that should take place before you order. It is what it is. If you want to find it cheaper... call around to a few distributors.
