Is this a good business decision?

So I just heard on the Radio about how the Mega Millions is up over 500 million. The guy on the radio was saying that he spent all his businesses available cash in the hopes to win instead of buying some supplies he needed. At first I was shocked then they said all he had was 150 bucks. Not as bad as I originally thought but still. If you only have 150 bucks and need to buy supplies for your clients, and then you go on the radio and announce that. I am thinking there may be a few people who are a little upset with him.

Anyway, I have not bought a lottery ticket in probably 5 years or so, but I am thinking of grabbing a ticket or two before tomorrow. 500 mil would be a nice gift don't ya think.

Curious to know how many actually play the lottery and if you are in some kind of pool with it or just individual. My brother is in a pool of about 30 people each week and everyone puts in 10 bucks a week. In the past 2 years he has made a couple grand back but nothing huge.

I never play, my dad did for many years and one 10k once. He is gone now, but I never had the urge to play it.
We do scratch off every once in a while.

Art! Hot and fresh.
I would have to say that $150 is a small amount for available cash on hand. he might just be hoping to get out of debt.

In 2005 the engineer I was working for called us all in to the conference room and said that the power ball was up to 300 something million and he was putting $1000 in for tickets and if he wins, we will split it and he was closing up his side of the business. At that time there were 5 of us counting him. Needless to say, we didn't win.

I'll probably get a ticket tonight after I cash my check, but putting all your eggs into one basket is generally not a good idea, even more so when it comes to putting them all in the lottery basket.

First thing I would do would be to buy 1,000 of eggs [now that I can afford 'em] and bombard my neighbor..... that would be EX-neighbor, Joe, at the bar. He's a terrible person. :ROFLMAO:

Or look for a fish sale... where's cheap-O when you need seafood ??

I don't buy lottery tickets, but it baffles me when people only buy tickets and wait in line when the lottery is some obscene amount of money. Like it's not worth a dollar and a walk to the store for a measly two million dollars.

I hear that a lot. But I only play very rarely. Usually when it is over 250mil
It's not that the odds are better or even 10k isn't worth it, its just the only time I think about it 3 or 4 times a year because its on the news or a topic of discussion.

Do people actually wait in line for tickets?

I'll buy a ticket for our regular lotto, lot less people will be playing and I would settle for a mill or two.

I have only played twice or three times I think and they were all novelty Christmas gifts from friends. Don't see the point in just giving someone else my money in the chance to win it back.... I don't have very good luck :(
