I've got the blues... the wrong blues

I have been printing samples for over an hour now trying to match a deep blue on a customer's truck. The existing graphics were printed on a solvent machine, and I just can't seem to find a formula that the HP likes. It is really hard to get a picture that shows the difference, but I am attaching one that was taken with a flash that seems to show it better. I am close, but my blue is more "washed out" looking. Both the original and my version are printed on 3M 680CR, I am using an L25500 with Flexi as the rip. Using the Briteline vinyl profile, both 12 and 16 pass, low ink, bidirectional. The blue is set to RGB 0, 20, 225. In the pictures, my prints are the ones with the light blue and red outlines.

I've always had a Roland, but spend a lot of time on color matching. In the end, we had to tell our customers that we'd get as close as possible, but if we didn't create the original, we can't match the original. I really HATE color matching on samples people bring us. But maybe I just suck at the process, and others here can give you better advice.

Good luck.

Your blue has a violet cast to it which indicates that you need to increase your ink limit quite a bit. Try to get to 180% on a new profile and you will get the result you need. You will need a spectro. Canned profiles never seem to have deep blues and reds.
