Laminate

Has anyone ever tried to laminate something two times ? Just curious if it would work to make it a little thicker and stronger ?

Funny now that you mention that I remember what I used it for.... it was for MX graphics. I printed 3651 w/ 2 layers of 210 gloss to "toughen" it up a little.

It was a pain in the a$$ to install since it was so thick and wasn't intended for that application, but it actually held up pretty good. I wouldn't recommend doing it this way for a real customer, but it actually worked okay.

Yeah I used 210 on a real customer and within a month all of it came off , got a nasty email :/

I have laminated things twice before to see how it would work out. we used a hot melt and a pressure sensitive lam. It came out ok but I wouldn't do it for a job it will fail! We have 10 mil hot melt two side here up to 60inch

Yeah it looks like I will just need to find a way to get the 12mil , or something close to it .. I found a few places that sell it but the shipping was out of this world !

I've done it before...can't for the life of me remember why. Worked fine.

Just as long as you keep in mind, the thicker it gets the less it conforms to anything.

Maybe you laminated something matte, and it was suppose to be gloss.. or visa versa..

i might have done that before :Big Laugh
