Lifespans of Vinyl & Laminate

Kentucky Wraps

Kentucky Wraps
If the average expected lifespan of Laminate is 2-4 years shorter than that of it's paired vinyl, does that "technically" render the installed graphic to the life of the shortest lifespan element, that being the laminate?

Just curious how you guys (& gals) treat such a quandary.

Pretty much yes. Also keep in mind - most vinyls rated life is "unprinted" on a vertical surface. Wraps - 3 years expected life unless it is garage kept and/or gets a lot of shade during the day.

When people ask me the lifespan of some material I tell them "till it dies".

Brilliant reply...LOL

The life span of these materials can be as much caused by the climate, how well the customer looks after it, etc..

I have had customers in my shop wanting signs and graphics to last 10 years!

We had an oriental gentleman wanting a 20 year guarantee for his sign!!
This was a bit of an impossibility as parts of it wheir manufactured from wood and painted!

I'll start giving more of a life span on materials when customers dig deeper and stop looking for the cheapest option.
You can't have cheap and lasting forever as they do not go hand in hand.
