Liquid Lamination lifting ink off prints

Has anyone had any experience with liquid lamination lifting off the ink from latex prints when applying with a roller or the EZ glide? I've found that in applying the liquid that the dark inks tend to "lift" and color the fluid, thus leaving lighter colors on the print looking dirty. It doesn't seem to matter if the print is fresh off the printer or has "set" for 24 hours.
