What will protect to L.e.d.'s from the weather and where will the power source be put?
Get some Gemini formed letters and put light in the them.

I would suggest using a thin metal letter with at least a 1/2" return as opposed to flat, thats not going to look good for sure

Not all LED is waterproof, you have to get modules that are rated waterproof... I believe they are the IP68 rated modules...

On backlighting a flat panel with LED... I would have to see the application, but neon has a more consistent illumination.
