Lost comunication with Mutoh 1204

Please help.

I have a Mutoh 1204 printer that has been working great till the other day. It started printing only 1/2 of the job. Now I get cannot open port. I checked and verified IP address on both PC and Printer and they are the same. I sent a ping and it Timed Out 4 out of 4 times.
I assume there is a problem with the printer "connector". Any ideas what it might be? Thanks in advance

Are you hooked up directly or through a network?

If you are on a network, you are going to have to check your router settings to see if something was reset. Your router and/or cables could be bad. You could always hook the computer up to the printer directly to test if that works then you will know something is broken in the network hardware.

If you are not on a network, start with changing the cable. If that doesn't work hook your computer up to the internet and see if that connects. If it fails, you have a bad Ethernet card on tour computer. If it succeeds, you most likely have a bad main board on the printer.

Thanks, I have got it hooked directly to the computer. I have also tried on (2) PC's with (2) different cables. That should eliminate that the Ethernet board is bad shouldn't it?
