I have a new Maintenance Station and wiper for our VJ1604.
I have looked through our maintenance manual it shows how to replace a wiper but it doesn't explain how to replace the Maintenance Station.
Do you really have to remove the cover to replace this?
I just replaced mine. Really, it's just a bunch of screws. I removed the lower portion of the cover (lip that holds the swing cover), and the lower portion on the back of the machine (so I could get at the wire plug). That's about it.
I have the mechanical drawing but it sure as doesn't show how the station is held on th spring.
I don't want to force it out as I don't want to break anything.
Is their anyone who can help?
What is a MSA?
The capping station marked as D-40 on the maintence assy schematic.
Underneath is a large spring.
I am classing D-40 as a capping station is this correct?
It has 3 small pipes coming of it.
Do you have Chapter: 4.9.4 Replacing Maintenance Assembly?
So I can see what I am missing.
You got me confused for a second when you mentioned there was not instructions for replacing the MSA ( Maintenance Station Assembly ).
The capping station it is a part of an assembly and you are right, the service manual does not show how to replace it but, if you have the exploted view diagram you should be able to take it apart, just be careful when taking apart the capping station do not want to brake the plastic tabs that hold it in place, very easy stuff.
Cap top yes or as my supplier calls it the capping unit.
They don't specify just the rubber gasket here in the UK!
Come on how do i remove the cap top?
Something stops it from popping all the way out as the spring is under tension.
Please help as I have to get loads of things printed tomorrow!
I truly wish I never started to replace this small part.
But I Thought it was a good idea as preventitive maintenance.
one of those clips that goes around the post that the spring envelopes...cant think of the name of said clip, but you need to force it outward, as it clips itself into a groove on the post...
