media question on 1604

Hi all, thanks for the help getting up and running. I've printted a couple of banners and some promo stuff for my shop and am very happy with my 1604. I have some 30" GMI stadic cling and when I load it I get "media end" in the dispay. almost like it is not seeing the roll at all. I've loaded 38" and 54" with no problems....what am I doing wrong? I checked the manual and didn't see anything to solve this. thanks, john

Center your media

Look on the rear platen for a hole where the media sensor is.
You have to cover that sensor to detect media.
