media sensor!!! where is it and how do I clean it!!!

%$%& wtf I start jobs and I indicate I want the job to start 1.5" up and it starts 3" up and chops the top off. I can only figure that the media sensor cant detect the edges of the material.
I just loaded a 30" piece of vinyl and it says I have 31.5" thats just crazy!!!

ooo, got me there... i know the width sensor is where the electrical wires come down on the left side of the carriage but to displace it 1.5"? would cleaning it fix your problem? i don't know really, as I've never seen it do that before.

sometimes media sensor gets knocked and doesn't point straight down just straighten up or sometimes vinyl is not sitting flat on plattern and there is not definite contrast in colour from vinyl and black rubber strip
i use a piece of magnetic rubber to place on edge of vinyl

It doesn't do it all the time,only on the crucial prints!!! lol. I think I may not have enough material out on the x side and it cant read anything.
