Metallic Ink 100% wasted

Some of you may remember a while back when I said all of my Metallic Ink was going to waste and some of you said it was going to my waste bottle during ink circulation . Well now is the time where the metallic ink is now 99% gone .... it's such a shame as its $240.00 for that cartrige and I only printed maybe a 2 foot squared piece with it.

Anyway when the tech was here last time he was hinting to me that I could put my cleaner cartrige in place of the metallic ... He didn't want to tell me straight out for some reason so I'm really not sure what to do . I'm not going to order another $240.00 Met Ink and have it go to waste .

any advice ?

Thanks

just get a clear generic cart and fill it with straight butyl carbitol and you are good to go. using a "Roland OEM laboratory certified" cleaning cart is still an unnecessary waste of money. maybe on your rig, it will require a permanent chip too.

I have 2 cleaning carts that came with my printer , can put that in place on MET ? if not , whats about taking the chip off the MET and putting it on the cleaning cart ?

you can do that but printers will make the OEM chip expire eventually. chipemulator.com can make you a pair of custom permanent chips for those channels. or at least he did for me a while back. actually just checked looks like that guy only does mimaki? anyway that's the general rule.

Thanks for the info , I checked the site and I don't see any Roland info . I will swap the chip once my MET runs out and go from there.
