Mimaki JV3 160sp. run 4 cartidges instead of 8?

Mimaki JV3 160sp. run 4 cartidges instead of 8? Is that possible? Using just cmyk? Im finding im using another machine more and the cartidges are expiring on my mimake before i finish them. Just asking? Anybody know?

i do. you'll need to make custom y-splitters at the manifold. it's a little tricky but it makes the whole printer really easy to use.

you'll need to keep the chips arranged the same as in a dual cmyk set up. what's nice is you can have the remaining four ink lines loaded with flush at the far right of the printer. this way, when you aren't using the printer for several days, you can plug solvent cleaning solution dampers to your splitters and the printer then constantly is cleaning itself instead of throwing away ink and clogging up the pump lines.

Making America great, one sign at a time.
4 color rules.

After my printhead crashed in 2011, i changed from SEVEN inks to four. Never looked back. still have those expiring inks. even white......
lol.
It is nice to have backups. is there a difference? yes. unless your 80% of your customers are art galleries, its a NO brainer!
